Over the years, Maplesoft has developed a range of solutions for mathematics education and research, online assessment, system-level modeling and simulation, calculation management, and online STEM courseware. In order to accelerate the growth of these different product lines, Maplesoft’s Board of Directors unanimously approved a plan to spin-off its online education products into a separate corporation. The new corporation is called DigitalEd.
DigitalEd focuses on online education technology, including online courseware, testing and assessment, and placement testing.

Establishing two independent companies allows each organization to provide better solutions by focusing exclusively on meeting the specific needs of their diverse customers while developing advanced expertise in their respective markets.
How will this affect Maple?
Maple will be owned by Maplesoft and licensed by DigitalEd. Maple is, and will continue to be the engine for DigitalEd's products, and Möbius and Maple T.A. will always use the latest version of Maple as their engine.
How will DigitalEd handle support?
Support continues with DigitalEd the same as it currently does with Maplesoft. DigitalEd has separate contact channels for their support team, but Maplesoft will redirect customers if they contact Maplesoft. Visit DigitalEd Support for contact information.
I am not a user of Maple T.A., Möbius, and/or Maple T.A. MAA Placement Test Suite (i.e. I use Maple exclusively, and/or MapleSim). How will this impact me?
This will have no impact on any of your products or on how you currently communicate with Maplesoft. You have been provided with this information only to keep you informed of developments at Maplesoft.
How will the spin-off affect my invoicing and finance department?
Going forward, invoices for your online education products will be processed through DigitalEd. You will be contacted in order to transfer your invoicing
What if I currently use products from both Maplesoft and DigitalEd?
If you have products from Maplesoft as well as DigitalEd, you will be working with both companies going forward. However, it is important to note that you will likely be working with the same people as you were previously. Maplesoft and DigitalEd will continue to work closely together, especially with joint customers.
I visited the DigitalEd website and I can’t find my product. What happened to Maple T.A.?
As part of the move to DigitalEd, the Maplesoft online education products have been renamed to reflect our desire to provide a single platform that is capable of meeting all your online education needs. We are calling that platform Möbius, and the chart below shows the old and new names for the individual products.
Maplesoft Product Name New DigitalEd Product Name Maple T.A. Möbius Assessment Möbius Möbius Courseware Maple T.A. MAA Placement Test Suite Möbius MAA Placement
I'm a current user of Maple T.A., Möbius, and/or Maple T.A. MAA Placement Test Suite. What will happen to my license?
Your license has been transferred to DigitalEd under the exact terms that were agreed upon with Maplesoft, and you likely have the same account manager you were already working with. You will be contacted by DigitalEd to transfer over any other current agreements you currently have with Maplesoft, under your current terms.
What effect will this have on product research and development?
Each company currently has fully staffed research and development departments, and will continue to focus on making the best, most innovative products possible for their respective product lines. Product roadmaps and release schedules will now be managed independently at each company.
Will there be new career opportunities with these changes?
Yes. Both companies are currently looking to fill multiple new positions. If you are interested in pursuing a career with Maplesoft or DigitalEd you can find our current listings here.
